I am a grown up sheep farmer

We were so excited to be at our first big fiber festival, Endless Mountains.  Had a great time, sold lots of roving and we will be back September 2012!

Dye pot photos

Just a few photos of dyeing our fiber the other night.  On the bottom of the pot is a grey Jacob wool that is going purpleish, and on top of that a merino roving that took on a greenish=blue and a few dots of pink.  It's going to be fun to spin.  On Friday I try out a different spinning wheel, and this is what I am going to spin as soon as I get the wheel figured out.

whats up?

Some beautiful fiber listed on our etsy shop

Little one out in the pasture.  This is one of our Jacob lambs.   Not sure which one of the presidents it is, they are all named after U.S. presidents.
Our showy little shetland and her lamb.
This proud looking young ram lamb is a handsome Jacob sheep, out of "Janette".  If you notice the tightness of his curls...that is the look that I love in a lamb, it means such a lofty, soft fleece to come! His grandad's fleece was so soft I could spin it without carding it, just wash and dry.  Like a CLOUD!

Our proud papa, Gabriel

This is our Jacob herd-sire, a beautiful four year old ram.  You can see how gentle he is in the picture, and a beautiful fleece, lofty and lots of white.
